About

Over fifteen years of the web. Now building less of it, better.

Old Hand Works is run by Michael, a web developer with over fifteen years of professional experience. The work has covered most of the web's major eras, from the FrontPage and Flash days through CMS platforms, ecommerce builds, modern frameworks, and everything in between. Every generation brought new tools and new ways to overcomplicate a straightforward problem.

This version of the work is a deliberate step back from that. Small businesses do not need trending stacks, feature-heavy builds, or agency process. They need a site that is clear, current, and easy to trust. Visitors should be able to see the quality before they have finished reading the first paragraph. That visible quality is what builds confidence and holds search value over time, not keyword density or platform choices.

Design, writing, structure, and ongoing care are all handled directly, without account managers, handoffs, or overhead.

In practice

Clear work looks different from business to business.

A bar & grill, landscapers, a plumber, and a doggy day care should not share the same page rhythm. The work is making each site fit what customers need to do next.

How we think

Quality earns trust faster than any marketing copy.

Quality is visible before it is understood. A site that is fast, accurate, and clearly structured earns trust from the first second, before a visitor has read a single line of copy.

SEO follows useful pages. Answering real questions and giving people a clear next step consistently outperforms content written around crawlers.

The right scope is smaller than most people expect. A site that does a few things clearly outlasts one that does many things poorly.
